China Chili industry status analysis

At the same time, China has introduced color ornamental varieties and edible cultivated varieties from the Netherlands, South Korea, the United States and other countries. Among them, the total planting area of dried pepper in the world is 200.15 million hm2, and the total output is 2.7897 million tons. India produces 1.244 million tons, accounting for 44.59% of the world, China 250,000t, accounting for 8.91%, Peru accounts for 5.91%, and Bangladesh accounts for 15.4%. Fresh pepper production in China 14,026,300 tons, accounting for 51.8% of the world, Mexico accounted for 6.92%, Turkey accounted for 6.44%, India accounted for 4.13%, Spain for 1,059,500 tons, the United States for 855,800 tons.

Pepper planting is an important project in the development of rural economy, in many places in our country can be said to have the title of the town of pepper, but also to help many farmers to increase income and get rich. For example, Sichuan, Hunan, Chongqing and other places in China, and China's demand for chili is also quite large, because many places are really not hot, plus a lot of not eat spicy areas usually some dishes will put a little chili, that is to say, every household basically needs to use chili.

Pepper has become the main economic pillar crop in many provinces and counties in our country. Eight provinces, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Henan, Sichuan, Hebei, Shaanxi and Hubei, have planting area of more than 67,000 hm2. The most famous pepper producing areas in China include Jize County and Wangdu County in Hebei Province, Qingfeng County in Henan Province, Fufeng County and Mei County in Shaanxi Province, Gangu County and Wushan County in Gansu Province, Longhui County and Longshan County in Hunan Province, Qiubei County in Yunnan Province, Yongfeng County in Jiangxi Province, Zunyi County in Guizhou Province, etc.
